Choice 2. 1 Kings 17-2 Kings 1.
a) Scriptures listing miracles the Lord performed through the prophet Elijah:
1 Kings 17:1-Elijah closed or sealed the Heavens so it could not rain or dew.
1 Kings 17:2-6-The Lord sent a raven to feed Elijah twice a day while he was in hiding.
1 Kings 17:8-16-Elijah promised the widow her flour and oil barrels would be filled during the duration of the famine.
1 Kings 17:17-22-Raised the widow's son from the dead
1 Kings 18:31-38-Allowed fire to burn wood that was wet and filled with water
1 Kings 18:41-45-Made it rain
1 Kings 21:17-19; 22:34-38-was able to kill the King of Israel
2 Kings 1:9-14 Had fire consume the army
b) How the sealing keys can be both a blessing and a curse.
The power to perform miracles and requests of the Lord would be an awesome responsibility. The stress of doing it exactly how the Lord wants it would be overwhelming, but also knowing that the Lord had faith in me would be amazing. Performing miracles are a blessing because the desire of the Lord can come to pass and you feel like you are doing good, IF the miracle doesn't hurt anyone. That is where the curse of performing miracles comes in. If you have to hurt someone or something, that would not be good or make you feel proud of your actions, even though you knew it was what the Lord wanted.
